The spring rate on this Gen 4 assembly feels slightly stiffer than the Gen 3 version, particularly during the first half-inch of slide travel; fitting it to a Gen 3 frame required minor adjustments to the guide rod channel for smooth operation. The finish on the steel insert remains consistent with OEM standards, though I noticed a subtle machine mark near the rear retaining lip on every unit inspected. Replacement units match factory specifications within tolerance, but the coil spacing varies fractionally between batches.
