Sergei Volkov has been cutting steel since 1995. Today the shop runs a queue of fourteen slides at a time, each one finished by hand, test-fired before it ships.
Slide work is craft work.
There are factories that finish a slide in eleven minutes. We finish one in about eighteen hours. The difference is what you can hold in your hand, and what you can do with the pistol that holds it.
Why 17-4 PH stainless
Most aftermarket slides are MIM (metal injection molded) or cast 416R. Both are common, both work, both wear faster than billet 17-4 PH. We cut every slide from raw 17-4 PH billet stock — heat-treated to H1025, machined on a 4-axis VMC, finished by hand.
The result is a slide that holds its dimensions through ten thousand rounds. The first thousand it’s identical to a billet from any other custom shop. The next nine thousand are where the steel quality shows.
This costs more. It takes longer. It’s the only way we know how to do the work properly.

How a slide reaches you.
Custom work is not fast work. Here is what happens in the shop between the moment you place an order and the moment a package arrives at your door.
Order
You email Sergei with your pistol model, optic preference, finish color, and barrel spec. He sends a written spec sheet. You sign it. The work begins.
Mill
Raw 17-4 PH billet stock is cut on the VMC. Optic cuts, serrations, port work. About 8–10 shop hours per slide.
Finish
Salt-bath nitride, Cerakote, or hand-polished bare. Barrel is hand-fit to your slide. Each finish has its own setup time.
Test & Ship
Sergei test-fires each completed slide at his Las Vegas range — fifty rounds minimum. Then it ships. UPS Ground, insured, adult signature.

How long does it take to get my custom slide?
Typical turn-around time is 11-15 business days from order to shipment. This includes machining, finishing, and quality checks.
Can I rush my slide order?
No, we do not offer expedited processing. Every slide gets the same careful attention to detail in our Las Vegas shop.
Do you work on Gen 5 Glocks?
Yes, we support Gen 3, 4, and 5 models including G17, G19, G26, G34, G43, and G48 slides. Some generations have minor fitment differences.
Will my aftermarket barrel work with your slides?
Our slides are machined to OEM Glock specs, so most quality aftermarket barrels will fit. We recommend testing fitment before final assembly.
What optic cuts do you offer?
We machine for Trijicon RMR/SRO, Holosun 507/509, and Aimpoint footprints. Specify your optic when ordering.
Can I get my slide cut for multiple optics?
No, we only cut one optic footprint per slide to maintain structural integrity. Choose your primary optic carefully.
What's more durable – Cerakote or nitride?
Salt-bath nitride penetrates the metal for permanent wear resistance. Cerakote offers more color options but wears faster on high-contact areas.
Do you offer mirror-polished slides?
Yes, we hand-polish slides to show quality for an additional fee. Note this finish requires frequent maintenance to prevent tarnishing.
Do slides require FFL transfer?
No FFL is needed for slides without optic cuts or complete slide kits. We ship directly to you with adult signature required.
Can you ship to California?
Yes, we ship slides to all 50 states. Only complete firearms require FFL involvement under CA law.
What if I don't like my custom slide?
All sales are final on custom work. We don't accept returns or exchanges for buyer's remorse on personalized items.
Will you refinish slides cut by other gunsmiths?
No, we only refinish slides that we originally machined. Other shops' work may not meet our tolerances for proper refinishing.
